Monk's Story

We have the regulars that walk by everyday and he is just so cute when he walks along the fence with them. They have started to talk to him as they pass. Thank you again for the chance to give him so much love as he is giving us." Special thanks to Kevin & Judy Wale for everything they did for Monk.

Murray's Story

Murray was adopted by Lynn and Ron Everhart of Wooster, Ohio. Lynn shares the wonderful story of how Murray came into her life: "The two Shar Pei’s we had loved had passed away, the last one three years ago, and we had not had another dog since. I came across the Shar Pei Savers website, and was checking out the adoption page, when I read about Murray. He was blind, and I immediately thought, who will want him?? And my next thought was, we do!! Because our last Shar Pei did not have the greatest eyesight, and it didn’t bother him or us, I knew a blind dog can still have a great life and be a great dog. We knew that we did not want a puppy – that would not have fit in with our lifestyle now, nor would our cat and bird have appreciated it! To make a long story short, we did get Murray the day before Thanksgiving, and to say the very least, he has been the most wonderful dog ever! He is so sweet and gentle, quiet and good. He is between 4 and 5 years old, dogs that are older with special needs really aren’t much different than other dogs and make great companions. He loves to take walks, chew on bones, sleep during the day and is no trouble at all. He has adjusted so well. We had him examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist to make sure he was in no pain and to see if anything can be done for him. He is not in any pain, and there is nothing to be done, but Murray is the happiest sweetest boy ever, who is now a spoiled member of our family! Special needs dogs and senior dogs are just great! p.s. Thanks so much Kevin and Lora!!" Special thanks to Stacey and Jerry Moore of Gahanna, OH for fostering Murray.

We are truly blessed!"
