BRUCE
Hi I’m Bruce! Well, that is what they have been calling me since Tasha - the wonderful vet tech - saved me from being euthanized. She took great care of me and found me a nice place to stay, and now I have a shar pei foster brother. I get along pretty good with him and I really enjoy all the attention I am getting from my foster family. I have showed them a few of my tricks, and also how well I can listen to them. I really like to shake and roll on command - especially for a nice treat! And car rides and walks are just the best! I love to just sit in the car and watch everything go by, and walks are just so much fun. I am so looking forward to the future and what wonderful things will come in my forever home. I am glad I am not running around on my own anymore and I have a soft bed, good food, and nice people to take care of me until I find my new family. Do I sound like the boy for you? They take good care of me there, but I'd really like to live in a house. Only catch is, my former life didn't socialize me very well around other dogs...they make me very anxious and stressed. SCOTTY
Hey there! My name is Scotty – as in “beam me up, Scotty”. I know you are wondering what’s up with my * beautiful * ears. I was rescued from a pound in OH, and am now in foster care and live with 3 other dogs. We get along great and I especially like the ladies. The vet thinks I’m young, just a bit over a year old. I’m heartworm negative, up to date on my shots, micro-chipped, and have had my eyes done. I’m already housebroken and also sleep soundly in my crate at night. I much prefer to hang out in the house with the people, rather than play outside with the other dogs. I like other dogs, but would probably do best with a canine sister, instead of a brother. My foster mom thinks that might be because I was always left alone and tied up outside before I came to SPS. My foster mom says I wouldn’t be too good with young children, because when I get excited I forget my manners and can be jumpy. We are working on that, though and I already “down” and sometimes I know “sit” and “stay”. We work on my training daily, so I know it won’t be long for a quick learner like me! When we work on sit, I roll on my back for tummy rubs. I’m so happy to be in a home! WRINKLES Sanctuary Dog
A note from Rebecca: I am very sad to report that Wrinkles has crossed the bridge. Those of you who knew her will agree with me that she is now busy keeping all dogs in line at the Bridge while she waits for a wayward cat to pass by. :-) Wrinkles was a dog of incredible character and strength...she taught me that no matter how many obstacles life threw at you, circumstances were never so bad that you couldn't wag your tail in a circle for a biscuit. Special "thank you" to Joyce, Lucy and Huey for taking such good care of her and making her final months happy ones. Please take a moment to light a candle for her this evening...we miss you, Wrinkley Wrinks.
